Providing media products for the KU community.

Video Conferencing

Polycom LogoOur mobile video conferencing package allows you to conduct a 2-way video conference with multiple sites from many locations on the Lawrence and Kansas City campuses. Our capabilities include:

  • Our Polycom HDX 7000 video conferencing unit can be setup in a location with access to a T-100 Ethernet connection. The unit offers H.329 Dual Stream so that you can dedicate one monitor to the video camera and one to the computer graphics if the distant site(s) also offer this service.
  • The system can be expanded to include our Media Production packages which includes additional cameras and multiple microphones. This arrangement makes our video conferencing package suitable for an individual involved in a initial job interview or expanding the system to allow a class, conference or seminar to be seen by audiences at distant sites. With two-way video conferencing the distant site(s) can speak with the local participants as well as be seen.
  • With the addition of our Media Production equipment, it is also possible to capture the content occurring at the local site for re-purposing into another product. Capture of content at distant sites then makes it possible to archive all activities at each origination site providing a future audience an opportunity to see all that occurred during a distance education experience.
